Title: Intelligent big brother
Abstract: The emergence of autonomous (software) systems in open environments such as the financial markets, large ICT systems, socio-technical systems and industrial platforms urgently requires flexible control and coordination mechanisms in order to guarantee desirable system-level properties. In artificial intelligence, and in particular in the multi-agent systems research field, norms have been widely proposed as flexible means for coordinating the behaviour of autonomous agents in multi-agent settings. In this presentation, an overview of my recent work on norm-based computational mechanisms that can be used to control and coordinate the behaviour of autonomous systems will be presented.
