Title: Extraction of knowledge models from textbooks
Abstract: Textbooks are educational documents created, structured and formatted in a way that facilitates their understanding. This talk will present a mechanism that extracts knowledge models from textbooks thus building a pathway towards generation of intelligent services facilitating interaction with the textbook content. Integrating multiple textbooks from the same domain increases the coverage of the composite model while keeping its accuracy relatively high. Specific concept roles can be identified to make the resulting knowledge models more useful.
